Race Driver: GRID is the latest addition to the TOCA Touring Car series by Codemasters, published and developed by the same company. The game was released on May 30, 2008 in Europe, June 3, 2008 in North America, and in Australia on June 12, 2008.
This game is made by Codemasters, the creators of the TOCA/Race Driver series. GRID is a hybrid between arcade and simulator of mainly tarmac racing that consists of 43 cars. The game features an instant replay feature which allows the player to rewind time by up to 10 seconds. While the instant replay can be used as many times as the player wants, the Flashback feature can only be used a limited number of times, determined by the difficulty setting. A feature similar to what was introduced in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
There are several types of competitions for different cars: GT races, open wheel races, demolition derbies, etc. There are also several tracks from different countries, including Japan, United States and European tracks such as Le Mans and Spa Francorchamps. A track through the streets of Milan is also available.

Flight Simulator 98 may not be the newest entry in this venerable civilian flight simulation series, but you sure get a lot for your money. Never mind that thousands of airports scattered around the entire earth are available for your exploration, or that you can use several prop planes, jets, or even a helicopter (oh, and don’t forget the sailplane) to get there. Forget about the detailed avionics, online play, and smooth 3-D accelerated graphics. The real draw of this simulation is its open-ended design and phenomenal gaming community that has designed thousands of new planes, ~censored~, graphics packs, and scenery enhancements that are all available for free on the Internet.
Take air-traffic control, for example, which is completely missing from the initial release of Flight Simulator 98 (unless you are flying one of the canned adventures included with the game). Last time we looked, there were nearly a dozen add-on packages that tack an air-traffic control model onto the game, either for free or for a small shareware fee. There are programs that let players plan flights, import real-time weather conditions that change realistically as you fly from place to place, and do just about every other thing you can think of to this simulation. If you never explore the add-ons available online, Flight Simulator 98 is still a fantastic civilian flight simulator that can provides months of high-flyingment. Age of Empiresplaces you on a map in an unexplored world, provides a few starting units, and lets you begin building an empire. Each game unfolds the same way. You begin with a town center and some villagers. The villagers are the basic laborers, and the town center enables you to build more of them and expand your settlement. The villagers are central to AOE: they gather resources, build structures, and repair units and buildings. Resources come in four forms: wood, food, stone, and gold. A certain amount of each is consumed to build various units and buildings, research new technology, and advance a civ to the next age.

Tony Hawk 4 is by far the best skateboarding title around and head and shoulders above its "me-too" competition. I just don’t think there’s enough newness here for a casual gamer to drop another $50 so soon after buying Tony Hawk 3 and we’re still not playing the Hawkman online yet. If ever there was a game that could benefit from steady doses of downloadable content through a service it’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. What serious Hawk fan wouldn’t be willing to buy a game once and keep upgrading it with new levels, for a small fee even, for months to come? In the end, the Tony Hawk series’ biggest drawback is that number 4 is facing strong competition from number 3

Despite the inclusion of the number "2" right in the game’s title, Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 is the sixth Tony Hawk game that has been released in as many years. Over these past six years, the series has created a genre and, with every entry, reshaped that genre. Early installments in the series basically rewrote the book on the rewarding combo system every year, but with the gameplay already in a rock solid state, the more recent entries have made more subtle changes. THUG2 hangs on to the great gameplay of the previous games, makes a few minor tweaks, and wraps it all up in a new Bam Margera-centric package. The result might be more satisfying for those who haven’t seen most of this stuff already done before in previous Tony Hawk games.

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX’s options are typical of an extreme sports game. The proquest mode is essentially a career mode that lets you select from a lineup of the world’s best BMX freestylists to play as. It also lets you earn new sponsored clothing, new levels, and new bikes. Each track has a series of objectives that start at an amateur difficulty level and then steadily increase in difficulty after you complete them. In fact, the default bike just isn’t good enough for accomplishing some of the later, more difficult objectives, so there is substantial incentive for obtaining faster and more maneuverable bikes. Even so, the proquest mode may be a little too easy for extreme sports veterans, since the game visibly highlights the obstacles associated with objectives you need to complete. However, this should be a welcome feature for those who are new to the genre. The game’s two remaining modes – freeride and session – are practice modes in which you can race around on a track, with or without a time limit.
